Well as you can see from the image above it was my birthday.. it was this past Saturday to be precise and it I spent it with my family as per usual. The day was lovely and seemed even more special this year in some ways.

As you can see we had bubbles..

The next day I brought Hayley down to Boston where she will be staying for the summer. It’s odd to have had her here for three weeks and then she’s gone again.. but I am grateful she wanted to be home for the time she was and she will be coming home in August for a couple of weeks. Also.. she is only 3 hours away so I can go visit her down in my old hometown. Here is her and her boyfriend and her and myself in their apartment just before I headed home.

On the way back from Boston I decided to take Route one right along the coast in Kittery and on up to Wells for a while. It was beautiful.. high 70′s and cloudless. Took this one while stuck in traffic along York beach.. didn’t mind being stuck in traffic this time since I had the ocean breezes, the beach and tourists to look at. The photo below was taken while in my car..

There were some lows to go along with the highs this weekend but I am still grateful for what I did have that was good. Now I am keeping it low key for today and tomorrow since I have my 4th chemo treatment on Wednesday and from past experience I need to not wear myself out before my treatments hence not doing a whole lot now which is kinda nice. oh yeah.. I did make some homemade dog biscuits.. Beansy and Rufus loved them

Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all the women in my life who are a mother, who are becoming new mother’s and those who may not have children of their own but mother someone in one way or another.

Sunday I was able to pick up Hayley down in PA  and bring her home Monday. So that for me was a very nice Mom’s day gift.. we got back late last night and while today I’m feeling pretty run down from two days of traveling but it was so worth it.

Tomorrow is my third chemo treatment. I am sort of concerned that I will have yet another allergic reaction as I have the two times before and that has made me a little more apprehensive about these treatments. I know they can control them once they start but they really are quite disconcerting at the time they happen even if it is only for 15-20 min’s. The good thing is they are on top of it and everything else usually goes well.

I’ve been doing a lot of photo taking and editing over the last week which I have to say feels so good. Haven’t had the energy or the desire before this past week due to feeling sick. So.. while I’m not feeling as bad as usual and more importantly actually in the mood to edit I’m taking advantage of it and loving it. I’m also learning some different editing techniques and different ways to take a photo. One of the new ways is to use my scanner to scan items in and then use some textures with it.. it’s very exciting and I think it will open a whole new way to create images for me.. I’ll have some of these images to post here in the next week or two.

Well.. that about covers it for now. I’ll try to post in the next couple of days.. hope everyone is well and again.. thank you for all the well wishes and the donations I have received thus far.. I am so very touched and grateful.

I actually think I enjoyed talking to the cows and horses more then going inside the sugar shack. I have to say though it was pretty cool to see and better yet smell the maple syrup being made. There were free sample scoops of vanilla ice cream with fresh maple syrup, which was quite yummy! For sale they had maple cotton candy, maple hard candy, maple tea, maple pancake mix, maple cream spread, maple peanuts and of course maple syrup.

It was a nice way to ease the all too fresh absence of Hayley…

There has been so much going on over the last couple of months hence my lack of blogging on here. I felt my creative energy had dwindled quite a bit and a part of me thinks it had to do with the 365 project. I was putting  a lot of pressure on myself and felt I couldn’t post photos as I felt because I wanted to make sure to choose “the” one for that project. I was becoming really hard on myself and afraid I wouldn’t post an image that was worthy to be posted. I have since decided to just ignore that. I’m tapping back into my creativity and allowing myself some leeway.I edited quite a few photos this morning and was able to buy some new textures from my favorite texture guru and natural light photographer Jessica Drossin. That alone has reignited my spark which so sorely needed something.

I also think winter has had a lot to do with sapping my energy as well as some health issues that are plaguing me. Today however is a beautiful late winter day with temps in the 50′s F and I plan on going out and feeling some of that warm air.

I just realized I hadn’t posted anything since last week. With Hayley being home and Thanksgiving upon us it was been pretty hectic but well worth it. Had my sister, her husband and their kids over for Thanksgiving and I gotta tell you.. I just love having a full house. The energy, the laughter.. it’s all what makes me feel so happy and thankful.

Hayley is now back in PA for 2.5 weeks.. home life is back to what it was. Its all good..
