Hope this post finds everyone healthy and happy after the holidays.

On Christmas Eve we went to my sisters house as per usual and enjoyed a delicious dinner and spending time with family we hadn’t seen since Thanksgiving.

Later on in the Eve I watched “It’s A Wonderful Life” while Hayley went to bed early to be able to get up at her usual 3-4 in the morning christmas stocking raid. It was nice to have the evening alone to think about this past year and how Christmas means something a bit different this year. There were times I would get caught up in the hoopla of buying and doing all things Christmas but I really tried to keep it simple and remember what it really is about, which for me is being with my family and really being grateful for my renewed faith and my Cancer remission.

I did enjoy as I do every year stuffing the stockings and putting out the gifts..

I for once didn’t have to work on Christmas Day and Hayley didn’t go to her dad’s, so for the first time in about 9 years we spent the whole day together. It was a day of pj’s, naps and snacking on goodies till dinner was made. I couldn’t have asked for a better day and am very grateful for it.
