Thanksgiving and Snow..

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and were able to enjoy the day as best you can.

This was the first year I didn’t have to work the day before Thanksgiving (course not working isn’t great but I’ll take the good from it when I can) and it was quite nice to be able to prep for Thanksgiving. Even with prepping and then having not such a crazy day yesterday it still wore me right out. However it was all worth it. We had 7 adults and 5 kids and let me say it was nice having so many people over and listening to the house fill up with lots of laughter and playfulness.

I had this great idea that I would take so many pictures through the day but for some reason I didn’t take many.. three actually. I guess I was just too busy cooking and chatting. I don’t really mind but kind of funny being a photographer taking photos was far from my mind most of the day. When I did think of it I was in the midst of cooking so wasn’t able to. Even still I’m glad my time was spend paying attention to my family and not trying to capture them as much as possible with my camera. I’ve captured them more so in my heart and mind. However I did get a nice shot of our turkey after I took it out of the over. I bought a farm fresh turkey and it was the best turkey we’ve had.. hands down. Wonderful..

Of course we had pie for dessert and then we played games.. well I only play one hand then I was just too darned tired.. but I watched and laughed while everyone else played. It was so nice to have everyone at the house including Hayley who has been home since Tuesday when I went down to get her from College.

This morning I woke up to snow on the ground! Our first snowfall of the season and it couldn’t have come at a better time.. a little while later it started snowing again.. I was very  happy since I love snow. I put on my boots and was able to get my first snow shots of the year….

Evergreen with snow is always so pretty and festive..

The flakes were the nice,  big thick ones.. looked very wintery up against the trees in the woods.

The front of the house…

and finally..

Wouldn’t be complete without snow on Rufus.. snow gets on Beansy as well but since his hair is so short doesn’t stay long.. the snow loves Rufus’s mane and he always looks so darn cute with it on him. Pretty soon he’ll do his thing of going onto his back and then sliding around in the snow.. very entertaining.. well, at to me :)

I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog. It has been a very long year as most of you know and I’m extremely thankful and grateful for all the love and support I’ve gotten. I don’t know how I would have done it with out being able to write and have your wonderful feedback.. I have spent and still spend most of my time by myself still dealing with my health and recovering from cancer but I know that I’m not truly alone as I once thought I was and that was made real by all the outpouring of words from you all.. So. again.. thank you.

~ peace ~

Thankful for Today…

Thankful that today I get to drive down and bring my beautiful daughter back home for the Thanksgiving break. While the next few days are going to be busy and probably taxing on my health, I wouldn’t change it for the world. Thursday will be filled with family and friends and whenever I am surrounded with those sources of love then I always know it’s a healing benefit that I can’t get from any medication.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m hoping ot be able to post a thanksgiving day post if not on that day it will be Friday..

Safe travels for those of you driving or flying to see family and friends.

~ Peace ~
