“Then take me disappearin’ through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.”

This past Saturday was the perfect summer day. Since I live in central Maine it tends to get hotter then the coast so I decided to arm myself with my sun hat, sunblock, two bottles of water and of course my cameras and headed an hour south to Old Orchard Beach. It was a bit cooler by the ocean and their were wonderful ocean breezes that made my very glad I took the drive.
I was able to find a shaded bench that sat just before the beach line on the water and behind me was the rides and carnival food.. it was a perfect spot to people watch and feel the salt water air. I sat there for about an hour and really felt like I was living in the moment. The above photo was taken with my Droid phone from my view on this bench.
I also wandered in and out through all the carnival rides and along the boardwalk. It was great to be around people and I was pretty happy I decided to take that drive.
That night I went to see a friend of my play music in Hallowell afterward went out to dinner with a couple of friends. It was the perfect day and exactly what I was looking for without realizing I was looking for it. This was one of the few good days that I will hold on to when faced with one of the many bad days.. it makes it all worth while.
~ peace ~
