“Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles”
~Charlie Chaplain~
The first photo was taken this afternoon in the late sun on the Hallowell side of the Kennebec River.. it’s a minute drive from the house. The second photo was taken while I was walking in the Reservoir, also here in Hallowell. There is much natural beauty around us and I always have to remind myself of this and try to take advantage of it as much as I can. Regardless of how tired or stressed out I’m feeling nothing cures me more then being in the outdoors. The silence all around except for your feet swishing thru the fallen leaves. The smell of the seasons changing. The bite in the air. It’s an all natural, free to everyone, honest to goodness remedy for what ails you.
I did give today as well.. it was to a homeless girl who was trying to get some money to get back home. She was standing out near the entry into the Walmart parking lot. Sure it could all be a story but there was something different about this girl. Anyways.. while I’m pretty short on money I still gave her $10.00.. she was shy but looked me right in the eyes.. she seemed true.. didn’t really think about the giving part until after it was all done. I guess even when you aren’t consciously looking to give there are always moments when they arise, maybe it’s just a matter of paying attention, getting out of your own and seeing what’s around you.
